Restoring an Aston Martin DB7 Vantage After a Decade in Storage

This Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante came to us for some servicing work in an MOT. The car had been inherited by a son whose father unfortunately passed away and had been left unattended in the garage for 10 years.

When we when we inspected the car it was quite clear that there was severe corrosion to the floor pan of the car. Severe enough that we hadn’t seen something like it before and it certainly wasn’t roadworthy.

To repair the car, the interior had to be completely stripped and removed. Everything had to be protected from the heat when the welding work was being done. And of course, when they were cutting the floor away because with the grinder, it created a lot of metal fragments. So we used specialists to help us with this.

The technicians cut and welded in a new floor, and the metalwork all has to be treated and painted. Then, the car has to be rebuilt. And it’s now past its MOT with flying colors. It’s in the showroom and ready to be collected.
