The N420 became the successor to the 2007 special edition, the N400 when it was introduced in 2010. It was based upon the standard 4.7-litre V8 Vantage, in both coupe or Roadster form and with either the six-speed manual or optional Sportshift transmission. The new Special Edition, motorsport-inspired N420 came with Sports Pack suspension as standard, a new sports exhaust system and plenty of carbonfibre which achieved a 27kg weight saving over the standard car.
