Aston Martin DB5 Vantage Specification

Loving cars as we do you cannot imagine the buzz here when an iconic car such as an Aston Martin DB5 arrives, we all go to pieces!

IMPORTANT: Please note the original engine block is supplied with this car!

If you want to actually drive a DB5 and enjoy it for all it’s glory then please stay with me.

This DB5 was registered in the UK in August 1965 and originally finished in Goodwood Green over Fawn Leather. As you can see she is now the familiar Silver Birch with classic Black leather. The history file with this car is brilliant, well detailed and all the important information is there. There is too much to list but in brief:

The paper work dates back to the 80’s and is comprehensive particularly from the 90’s.

Lots of invoices from Aston Engineering in the 90’s

Newlands Motors carried out major works in the late 90’s including building a new engine from a reconditioned block of the correct period from another DB5.  The engine was built to Vantage Spec and is in fine working order. PLEASE NOTE: The original engine block is supplied with the car!

Stratton Motor company in the early 2000’s and then Desmond J Smail from 2005 until 2020.

There is a service invoice from DJS every year, the file is thick and full of information about maintenance and repair work.

I have the original hand book with the cars first ever tax disc tucked neatly in the front cover. A comprehensive file full of MOT’s from the 80’s onwards until present day.

The condition:

This car has been maintained extremely well over the years, the history file is really good. The underneath of the car is fantastic there has been lots of works done o the chassis and sills over the years, it’s spot on. The engine is presented very well and the engine bay isn’t too bad at all. The interior as you have seen is worn but not too far gone that it couldn’t be repaired.

The paint work requires re finishing.

This is a really good usable car. You could drive anywhere in Europe and not care for stone chips. To restore the car requires little in terms of metalwork.
